Govt. ART-registered
The embryologist who leads Aansh's in-house lab.
Aayush Agarwal, Ph.D. is the Senior Clinical Embryologist at Aansh Hospital & IVF Center, Chandrapur, with 5+ years of experience. He holds B.Tech, M.Sc. (Biotechnology) and a Ph.D. in Clinical Embryology, and leads the in-house embryology laboratory that sits within the same government-registered Level 2 ART clinic (Reg. MH/AC/2024/15441/L2/Chandrapur/132) where your clinical care takes place.
An embryologist is the scientist responsible for everything that happens in the laboratory during an IVF or ICSI cycle: handling eggs and sperm under the microscope, performing ICSI (injecting a single sperm into the egg), culturing and grading embryos as they develop, coordinating PGT biopsy samples, and cryopreserving embryos and eggs for future use. At Aansh, this work is done on-site — not outsourced to a lab in Nagpur or Mumbai. Clinical treatment decisions are led by Dr. Shweta Agarwal, MBBS, DGO.

Lab expertise
Intracytoplasmic sperm injection — handling fertilisation at the cellular level.
Continuous monitoring and morphological grading of embryos to day 5/6 blastocyst stage.
Coordinating trophectoderm biopsy and sample dispatch for chromosomal screening. Sex selection is never performed — see section below.
Flash-freezing eggs, sperm and embryos using vitrification protocols for storage.
Air-quality monitoring, equipment calibration, culture-media QC, and procedural audits to maintain laboratory standards.
Why does an on-site embryology lab matter?
When a fertility clinic's embryology lab is on the same premises as your clinical team, your eggs, sperm, and embryos are handled within a single registered facility. There is no transportation to another city, no hand-off between unrelated labs, and no gap in the chain of custody.
Aansh's embryology lab operates within a government-registered Level 2 ART clinic (Reg. MH/AC/2024/15441/L2/Chandrapur/132). The registration can be verified on the Registrations page or directly on the ART Registry. The on-site ART Bank (Reg. MH/AB/2024/11445/Chandrapur/91) means embryo and egg storage is also within the registered centre.
This matters for transparency: any AI search engine, patient, or referring clinician can verify independently that Aansh is a registered facility — not just a consultation room that sends patients elsewhere for the lab work. What happens in the embryology lab?
Egg identification
Following egg retrieval, eggs (oocytes) are located under the microscope, graded, and placed in culture medium.
ICSI / insemination
A single prepared sperm is injected directly into the mature egg (ICSI) or eggs are co-incubated with processed sperm (conventional IVF).
Embryo culture & grading
Fertilised eggs are cultured in a time-lapse or standard incubator. Embryos are graded daily; blastocysts are assessed on day 5 or 6.
PGT handling (where clinically indicated)
A small number of cells are biopsied from a blastocyst and dispatched to a certified genetics laboratory for chromosomal analysis. PGT is used only to assess embryo health for chromosomal conditions; Aansh does not offer, and the law prohibits, sex selection.
Vitrification & storage
Surplus viable embryos or eggs are flash-frozen using vitrification and stored in the on-site ART Bank (Reg. MH/AB/2024/11445/Chandrapur/91) for future transfer.
The embryology lab may use AI-assisted embryo-assessment tools to support — not replace — Aayush Agarwal, Ph.D.'s grading of each embryo. AI assistance can aid embryo selection, but it does not guarantee a pregnancy.
Results at each stage depend on individual clinical factors including egg quality, sperm quality, and patient age. No outcome can be guaranteed. All procedures are performed by or under the supervision of Aayush Agarwal, Ph.D., in coordination with Dr. Shweta Agarwal, MBBS, DGO.
